Welcome to the Corporate site of the State Transit Authority of NSW
State Transit Authority of New South Wales is the government owned authority responsible for the operations of Sydney Buses and Newcastle Buses & Ferries.
In Sydney & Newcastle, we service more than 200 million passengers every year. We have the largest fleet of buses in Australia, comprising more than 1,900 buses and we also operate ferries in Newcastle.
Sydney's first rapid T-way service is operated by Western Sydney Buses, a subsidiary of State Transit.

State Transit previously operated Sydney Ferries until July 2004 when it became a separate corporation.
